Documentation of contributions: What I contributed to the project
Along with basic modelling of walls doors, etc, material finishes, a little landscaping.
Rendering of the final 10 images
Photoshop of 5 of those final renders
What made me a valuable member of the group: the dynamic of our group was that everyone dabbled a little in everything, we all wanted the opportunity to gain skills in areas we weren’t so strong. So for the most part of the process, we each did bits and pieces of everything, however when it got closer to the due date, we tended to pitch in in the areas we were most confident. Therefore I ended up doing the renderings of the final 10 images and Photoshop of five of them because that was an area I felt I could do a good job in. While we didn’t all stick to the exact original tasks we first wrote down, in the end everyone contributed equally and we all found skills that we excelled in.
Evaluate:
In evaluating my ability and readiness in undertaking design responsibilities of increasing complexity and of a collaborative nature in the professional architectural practice, I think that this assignment had been an excellent opportunity to gain a little more understanding of what working in the industry will really be like. It also brings to light that I still have an awful lot to learn and that through this assignment I was able to gain skills in areas that I was not confident in, and be a useful member of a group with the skills that I had previously.
