My role in this team was team leader, interior designer and blog writer.
For these roles I did these things:-
Team leader-
· Corresponded with the group via email and facebook.
· Organised days and nights for us to meet up and collaborate.
· Detailed the style we wanted to go with and discusses how this would b implemented into each of the roles (structural architect, landscape architect, interior architect etc.)
Interior designer-
CHILDS BEDROOM
PROGRESS WITH OBJECT CHANGES
AXON. OF CHILDS BEDROOM AFTER

MASTER BED PLAN AND AXON BEFORE
Blog writer-

· Writing updates on our design
· Adding pictures to back up our claims.
· Taking photos of us as we worked.
· Compiling our progress presentation slide shows.
What I found difficult
Getting six people together at the end of semester is a difficult thing to achieve. We all work and had prior commitments and this meant meeting at different times that suited people. I would meet up with Lauren who was previsouly in my tutorial group Monday mornings after the lecture. There we would collaborate on design details and blog details. She assisted me in creating the blog and together we over-came problems with the publishing of the blog.
Most mornings, Nasser and Scott couldn’t make it as there prior tutorial was the one after so I met up with them at night at the city hub twice and we re-designed the house together.
Clare was able to come every Tuesday and there she did a lot of work on the house on her own and a lot of collaborative work together. She was there when our model wasn’t showing objects and was there when I started doing interior work on the model.
I think it was wrong to presume we could all meet together each week. This meant some things like the progress powerpoints where doffucult to collaborate on and some people missed out on imput into each role.
What I found beneficial about group work
In our group, each person has clear aspects of the design process they are good at. Lauren and Nas are exceptional presentation artists who both use Photoshop frequently, Claire and Scott a really quick at remodelling and good at fine details of the design. Callum worked really well on his own and was fantastic at landscape and I was happy with writing and documenting our work and interior design on the house. I think this enriched our design and made producing the work a lot less stressful. I like that each person has their own style, and I think this is reflected in the eclectic use of materials and structure within the house.
Readiness to undertake responsibility…
I really enjoyed group work and learning different skills from my group members. Nas taught me a lot about Photoshop and rendering and Claire showed me a lot about cad design. I found this really rewarding. I like being put into a specific role and knowing what part it is I have to do. Initially I think we assumed we could all collaborate on every aspect of the design but as time went on we realised we where better of delegating specific roles and in the end, this resulted in a mixture of the two approaches.

Communication within the group
We used facebook allot to communicate because we are all regularly on it.
FACEBOOK COMMUNICATION
What I would change next time…
· Give each person clearly defined roles to allow more work to be done independently.
- Maybe prepare renders a bit earlier and allocate 2 to each person to personally change with photoshop to their own style.
A FINAL CAD RENDER I PHOTOSHOPPED
All up I found the experience really enjoyable. Sitting for 15 hours on a computer, doing CAD models can get really lonley and ultra depressing when you objects start embedding themselves in your roof and your mesh resembles a bed of spikes. Having others there to wallow with me really lifted my spirits and I think produced some really beautiful and interesting work. I learnt allot from my other group members and think this was a really nice way to end the course. Seriously....look how happy I am!
