It' all comming together...

We have all been doing allot at home. Callum re-designed the landscape, added additions to the house and detailed the entry and exit into the home including the driveway.
Clare has re-designed the top extension, adding fixtures internally, deciding on materials and updating the exterior. This week she has begun extending the veranda to fill the outdoor space and adding planting.
I have begun interior work on the children’s room, the master bed and the bathroom. I have been updating the blog and communicating on facebook. I have decided to use allot of walnut timber internally and to keep the rooms consistent with paint choices and materials.
Lauren has been doing work on the blog and updating the interior space. ALot needed to be done to ensure the materials and objects fit well together so she has been adjusting room and wall heights and adding to the landscape.
Nas has been deciding on materials and updating windows. He updated the new additions window and gave to building a deconstructivist slant. He has begun photo shopping the analogue presentation and is putting together our designs.
Scott has been making sure everything in the house works including widening the halls, adjusting roof heights and slab heights, producing analogue sections and elevations and adding to the extension and the existing material pallet.

Progress...

 ORIGINAL RENDER

We have been meeting every Tuesday to do our cad model. Due to a few hiccups (including loosing parts our model and missing objects) we have been doing allot at home and communication on facebook to ensure we are on the same page. There has been allot of progress including new windows, materials, the upstairs addition to the house and landscaping.
Initially it was difficult trying to correlate all our designs and it was obvious which parts where done by which student. We each agreed to do basic materiality like that of objects and fittings, and leave the big stuff like walls, flooring and slabs until the end. We believe this will help with the cohesion of the model.

Meltdown Update

After that confusion Ning (the course coordinator) came in and saved the day. Turns out all the other groups had had the same issue. It required us to all become “Head Architect” on the server so we all had over-riding power to change the design. We had to key in details and have it changed on the central server and presto- our objects and windows re-appeared.
We lost a day but luckily we where all together so we could discuss what needed doing at home. To make up for it each of us where going back to finalise our modelling requirements for the design so we could begin final presentation.

Thursday 21st October- MELTDOWN!

Our group is in MELTDOWN! Clare got here this morning and when she opened our CAD file all our objects where gone, there where voids where windows once stood and tiny little depressing dots in lieu of objects.
Nas and Scott fiddled around with it for a while but to no avail, some kind 5th year also tried to help but it was no use. We asked around and everyone had the same problem.
This is what the model currently looks like…

SCREEN SHOT OF LOST OBJECTS

So, our landscaping is missing, we are missing alot of materials, our windows are no longer windows just holes in the wall. It was alarming to wake up to and we don’t know how to fix it. We have been told it takes a reloading of the library but it’s not as simple as that. This is what keeps showing up...
